Punjab: The Director General of Police in Punjab Gaurav Yadav on Thursday said that Punjab police in view of threats to Punjab Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party National convener Arvind Keijriwal have provided the security to the leaders in Delhi elections.
Speaking with the reporters on the sidelines of a review meeting in Patiala, Gurav Yadav said that after the Election Commission’s objection the Punjab police security cover has been removed.
He also said that the Punjab police will share the source inputs with Delhi police to avoid any untoward incident.
The DGP was reviewing a security meeting in Patiala for the smooth preparation and celebration of republic day in the state.
Earlier DGP Gurav Yadav held review meetings in Bathinda and Ferozepur, which was attended by senior police officials of the districts.
According to the police statement ahead of republic day celebrations, 20 new PCR motorcycles, inducted in Patiala through CSR contributions, were flagged off.
“These motorcycles will enhance police patrolling and mobility, contributing significantly to preventing street crimes and ensuring public safety. Increased mobility in the city will enable quicker response times and better service delivery to the community. Such CSR initiatives demonstrate the value of police-public collaboration.”
The Punjab police has also rewarded Director General’s Commendation Disc to 46 top performers for outstanding community service and performing their duties efficiently.
DGP Gurav Yadav said that the Punjab police is committed to maintaining peace, security, and harmony across the state, steadfast in its mission to serve and protect the people of Punjab.
