Shimla: There is good news for the youth waiting for a government job in Himachal Pradesh. The state’s Industry Department is going to recruit mining guards for 80 posts in its Geological Wing. The Industry Department has written to the Information and Public Relations Department to give advertisements in newspapers for this.
Interested youth from general area will have to apply for these posts within 30 days of publication of the advertisement in newspapers, while youth from tribal area will be able to apply for 45 days.
Graduation is mandatory
Graduation is mandatory for mining guards. Age should not be less than 20 years and not more than 30 years. Youth will have to apply by visiting the official website of the department or to the GM of the District Industry Center.
General category youth will have to apply with a fee of Rs 200, while reserved category youth will have to make a demand draft of Rs 66.
165 cm height is necessary for men
To become a mining guard, the height of 165 cm for men and 150 cm for women has been made mandatory. The chest of the youth should be 79 cm and that of women should be 74 cm.
In the male category, 100 meter race will have to be completed in 14 seconds, while women will have to complete the race in 17 seconds. Similarly, men will have to complete 1500 meter race in 10 minutes and women will have to complete 800 meter race in 6 minutes. To become a mining guard, it is mandatory to pass the ground test.
This committee will do the selection
A selection committee will be formed in the districts under the chairmanship of ADC. DSP Headquarters and GM District Industry Center will be members, while the Mining Officer of the concerned district has been made the member secretary. This committee will select eligible youth on the basis of merit.
That’s why mining guards are being recruited
Mining has been a big issue in the industry department. Every time the opposition party has been cornering the ruling party over illegal mining. There is a shortage of field staff to stop illegal mining in the state. In view of this, the Congress government has decided to recruit mining guards.
