Mohali: Punjab Youth Akali leader Vikramjit Singh alias Vicky Middukhera (33) was shot dead by miscreants in broad daylight in Mohali four years ago. In this case, the Mohali District Court has convicted three criminals under the Murder and Arms Act.
The accused include Ajay alias Sunny alias Lefty, Sajjan alias Bholu and Anil Lath. The convicts will be sentenced on Monday (January 27). While gangsters Bhupi Rana, Amit Dagar and Kaushal Chaudhary have been acquitted by the court due to lack of evidence.
Vicky was murdered 4 years ago on August 7, 2021, when he went to his property dealer friend in Sector-70. As soon as he came out of the office, the accused who were already there opened fire on him. Vicky tried hard to escape. He ran for about a kilometer. But the attackers kept chasing him.
They fired a total of 20 bullets, out of which 9 bullets hit Vicky. Due to which he died on the spot. The day after the murder, the Bambiha gang claimed responsibility for the incident. In the initial investigation, the name of Lucky Patial, who ran the Bambiha gang, had come up. Both the gangs are rivals to each other.
Vicky’s murder remained a mystery for a long time. After this, the Mohali police brought about 26 gangsters from many places including Delhi’s Tihar Jail to Mohali for questioning. The gangsters were questioned face to face. But still no clue was found. There was also a lot of pressure on the police.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police arrested the accused involved in the case. After this, the story of the murder came to light. Then it was revealed that gangsters Amit Dagar and Kaushal Chaudhary, who were lodged in Tihar Jail, had conspired to kill Vicky.
He had arranged the car and the shooters. The shooters had come in an I-20 car for the murder. Shaganpreet, who was the manager of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewal, was accused of arranging for the accused to stay in Sector 125 of Kharar.
The police filed the chargesheet 11 months after the murder. The chargesheet was filed against Sajjan alias Bholu, Anil Lath, Ajay alias Sunny alias Lefty, gangster Amit Dagar and Kaushal Chaudhary. After this, the case was going on continuously in the court.
