Lagos: United Airlines flight from Lagos, Nigeria to Washington, America, suddenly came down 1000 feet on Friday due to a strong jolt. Four passengers and two crew members were injured in this mid-air jolt.
After this, the plane had to return to Lagos Airport for emergency landing. According to United Airlines, there were 245 passengers, eight flight attendants and three pilots on the flight.
A passenger on the flight also shared a video of the incident. In this, food trays, food and other items are lying on the floor of the plane. The airline said that the injured were admitted to the hospital, from where they have been discharged.
Reason for the incident is not clear, investigation continues
The reason for the sudden descent of the flight is not yet known. The airline said that the reason for this incident is not due to any air turbulence. American and Norwegian authorities have started a joint investigation.
According to Flight Radar 24, flight number UA613 suddenly started falling below its cruising altitude about 93 minutes after takeoff. The flight rapidly descended by 1000 feet about 89 minutes after takeoff.
Earlier on Tuesday also, the same flight had to be diverted. However, no connection has been confirmed between the two incidents at the moment.
