Patiala: India is celebrating 76th Republic Day today. In Punjab, Governor Gulab Chand Kataria hoists the tricolor in Ludhiana and CM Bhagwant Mann hoisted in Patiala today.
During this, 24 police officers of Punjab will be honored with CM Award. Of these, 5 are being awarded the Chief Minister’s Guard Medal and 19 are being awarded the Chief Minister’s Excellent Service Medal. Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has announced these names on the recommendation of the Punjab government.
Senior Constable Gurpreet Singh of CID Unit Ludhiana will also be awarded the Chief Minister’s Guard Medal today. On August 29, 2024, he saved the life of a man by pulling him out of the Sirhind Canal when he was attempting to commit suicide after a quarrel with his newly married wife.
It has been announced that four officers of Jaijon police post in Hoshiarpur, ASI Manna Singh, ASI Rajinder Singh, lady senior constable Kulwinder Kaur and Punjab Home Guard Gurdeep Singh will be awarded the “Chief Minister Rakshak Medal”.
These officers, selflessly, saved the life of Deepak Kumar, who was trapped in an Innova car that overturned while trying to cross the Jaijon Khad river in Hoshiarpur district on 11 August 2024.
Kultar Singh Sandhawa hoists the tricolor in Faridkot
The flag hoisting program was suddenly changed due to the busy schedule of CM Bhagwant Mann yesterday. In which CM Bhagwant Mann hoisted the flag in Patiala. Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan hoisted the tricolor in Faridkot, while Cabinet Minister Barinder Goyal, who was to hoist the national flag in Patiala, had attended the program in Mohali.
Deputy Speaker Jai Kishan Rodi hoisted the tricolour in Rupnagar, Harpal Cheema in Sangrur, Aman Arora in Jalandhar, Dr Baljit Kaur Barnala, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal in Gurdaspur, Dr Balbir Singh in Moga, Hardeep Singh Mundian in Bathinda, Lal Chand in Sri Muktsar Sahib, Laljit Singh Bhullar in Fazilka, Harjot Bains in Hoshiarpur, Harbhajan Singh in Ferozepur, Tarunpreet Saundh in Amritsar, Dr Ravjot Singh in Malerkotla, Gurmeet Singh Khudian in Tarn Taran and Mahinder Bhagat in SBS Nagar.
Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains hoisted national Flag in Hoshiarpur
District level 76th Republic Day was celebrated today at Police Line Hoshiarpur.
While talking to the media, Education Minister Harjot Bains congratulated the countrymen and the people of Punjab. On the shortage of teachers in government schools in Punjab, he said that teachers are being recruited and by March, the shortage of teachers in all the schools of Punjab will be met.
On the attack on Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi, he taunted the central government and said that it is unfortunate that 3-time Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was attacked. Arvind Kejriwal is constantly under threat, so he should provide security by Punjab Police.
Education Minister Harjot Bains had promised to give Rs 1 crore to 7 assembly seats of Hoshiarpur, but when he was asked whether the money has not reached till date, the Education Minister said that the grant has been issued from my side, you yourself go to those schools and inspect it, otherwise take the list from me, I will tell you in which schools the work is going on.
