New Delhi: AAP leader Priyanka Kakkar criticized Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday after he took a sip of Yamuna water to refute accusations made by former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Kakkar claimed that Saini did not actually drink the water but spat it out immediately, accusing him of staging a drama instead of addressing the serious pollution issue in the river.
Kejriwal had alleged that the Haryana government was poisoning the water supplied to Delhi, posing a risk to its residents. In response, Saini called Kejriwal’s comments “unfortunate,” asserting that they were intended to instill fear for political gain. He emphasized that he drank from the Yamuna to counter Kejriwal’s claims.
Additionally, Kakkar addressed an incident involving a vehicle found near Delhi’s Punjab Bhawan, which contained AAP pamphlets, liquor bottles, and a large sum of cash. She alleged that the vehicle belonged to a BJP worker from Maharashtra and that the number plate was from a different car. Kakkar dismissed the accusations as baseless, noting that the Punjab Police clarified that the vehicle was not part of their fleet.
According to the Delhi Police, the suspicious vehicle had “Punjab Sarkar” written on it and was parked near Punjab Bhawan. Upon investigation, they discovered cash, liquor bottles, and AAP pamphlets inside. The Punjab government stated that the vehicle’s number plate was fake and belonged to an individual who had not been associated with the government for several years.
