As part of the efforts being made by the Punjab Government to bring the state’s school education system at par with world-class standards, the School Education Department has started the process of selecting of primary and elementary teachers who will be sent to the University of Turku in Finland to understand the method of teaching from the university there.
Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that the second batch of 72 primary and elementary teachers (BPEO, CHT, HT) will be sent to the University of Turku, Finland for training. During this 3-week training program, one week of training will be given in Punjab, and after that two weeks of training will be given in Finland. He said that interested teachers can apply online on the e-Punjab School Portal epunjabschool.gov.in till 5 pm on 2 February 2025.
Minister Bains said that the age of the candidates going for training should be 43 years or less as on 31 January 2025. While for HT, CHT and BPEO, the age should not be more than 48 years. In addition, applicants should have a valid Indian passport at least till September 2025. Along with this, there should be no FIR, investigation, or criminal case pending against the candidates.
He informed that this process will be started by the District Education Officers (Elementary Education) on February 3. Minister Bains said that all the candidates fulfilling the basic requirements will go to the second round. In the second phase, eligible teachers will be selected based on educational qualification, experience, ACR, performance in interview-cum-presentation, and contribution in providing quality education.
