Mumbai: As the Union Budget approaches its presentation on Saturday, NCP-SCP spokesperson Clyde Crasto has strongly criticized the BJP-led government for its tendency to favor the elite over ordinary citizens.

Crasto expressed his expectations for the upcoming Budget, stating, “Given their track record, we are hopeful for the Budget tomorrow. However, the BJP is often seen as a ‘suit-boot ki sarkar’, catering to various social classes.” He stressed that the Budget should focus on the welfare of the common people, emphasizing the need for it to be “people-friendly” and beneficial for the citizens of India.

He also commented on recent political remarks, particularly those made by Devendra Fadnavis regarding Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. Crasto criticized Fadnavis for his choice of language, suggesting that as a prominent BJP leader and CM, he should be more careful with his words. He accused the BJP of being “masters of lying” and claimed they have misled the people of Maharashtra and India.

Regarding Akhilesh Yadav’s comments on the Delhi elections, Crasto noted, “It’s clear that the people of Delhi are dissatisfied with the BJP. I believe Akhilesh Yadav has done his research, which is why he is making these statements.”

In response to corruption allegations against Arvind Kejriwal made by BJP’s Amit Shah, Crasto retorted, “The BJP has no standing to discuss corruption. Many individuals they accused of corruption are now part of their party.” He added, “If Mr. Amit Shah is making corruption allegations, he should first address the issues within his own party, as they have welcomed those they once labeled corrupt, promoting them to high positions and ministerial roles.”
