Islamabad: Pakistan team has been announced for ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the 15 member squad on Friday. This team will also play a tri-series against South Africa and New Zealand. This series will start from 8 February.
The team will be captained by Mohammad Rizwan. Fakhar Zaman and Faheem Ashraf have returned to the team. Fakhar Zaman last played ODIs in November 2023. At the same time, Faheem last played international cricket in 2023.
Injured Saim Ayub has not got a place in the team. Champions Trophy will be played from 19 February to 9 March. Pakistan team is in Group-A. India, Bangladesh and New Zealand are also in this group.

Ayub has an ankle fracture
Khushdil Shah and Saud Shakeel have also been included in the Pakistan team. Saim Ayub will not be available due to an ankle fracture. Saim was injured in the Cape Town Test against South Africa. PCB waited for Saim to get fit and tried everything possible to include him in the team, but he could not get fit on time. It may take him at least four weeks to get fit.

Pakistan and India will clash in Dubai on 23 February
Pakistan team is in Group A. India, Bangladesh and New Zealand are also in this group. The group match between India and Pakistan will be held in Dubai on 23 February. Champions Trophy is going to be held after 8 years, last time in 2017 Pakistan won the title by defeating India in the final.
