At the time of the accident, about 25 other animals were also present there, which were saved by some employees.

8 cattle died due to electric shock in a cowshed in Chandigarh. This includes 7 bulls and a cow. As soon as the information of the incident was received, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh councilor Nirmala Devi reached the spot with her husband and senior Congress leader Dilawar Singh and investigated.

The incident took place at the cowshed located in Maloya village late last night. Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla said that she has instructed the Municipal Corporation Commissioner to investigate the incident, so that strict action can be taken against whoever is negligent in this.

Harpreet Kaur Babla said that there was a lot of dirt at the spot, and a few days ago, due to the malfunction of the electricity meter installed there, the wires were connected directly. This is why this tragic accident happened. At the time of the accident, about 25 other animals were also present there, which were saved by some employees.

Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla further said that she has called a meeting in this regard on Tuesday, in which the Municipal Corporation Commissioner and other officials will be present. In this meeting, the arrangements of all the Gaushalas of the city will be discussed and it will be ensured that the participation of NGOs is increased in them, so that such incidents are not repeated in future.

The administration has taken the matter seriously and has started an official investigation. Administrative officials say that if negligence of anyone is revealed in the investigation, strict action will be taken against him. This incident raises serious questions on the functioning of the Gaushala management.
