New Delhi: On February 3, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu sharply criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), labeling Delhi as a “failed model” and asserting that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance can “rescue” the national capital.
As campaigning for the Delhi Assembly elections wraps up, political parties are making final pushes to sway voters ahead of the February 5 polls, with vote counting scheduled for February 8 across all 70 constituencies. Notably, top BJP leaders are set to hold roadshows in the city on the campaign’s last day.
In remarks to the media, Naidu condemned the AAP government, claiming, “They are here just to pollute Delhi.” He emphasized that “Delhi is a failed model,” arguing that true welfare can only be discussed when wealth is created, and that a state must develop economically to generate wealth.
He pointed to the capital’s severe pollution and economic decline, stating, “Today, Delhi is the most polluted capital in the world. Who is responsible for this? It is also becoming poorer day by day. This model is not acceptable; people have rejected it. Delhi now needs Narendra Modi ji’s model; his governance is the oxygen that Delhi requires to breathe.”
Earlier, Naidu expressed his support for the BJP on social media, stating, “I campaigned in Delhi for BJP ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. It was a pleasure to connect with the vibrant Telugu community here.” He urged voters to ensure the BJP’s victory for a brighter future for Delhi and to help realize PM Modi’s vision of a developed India, emphasizing that this progress can only be achieved with a “double-engine ki sarkaar.”
