New Delhi: With the Assembly elections in Delhi approaching, Union Minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh has labeled Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal a “goon,” accusing him of “hooliganism” for deceiving the poor and supplying them with contaminated water. Singh stated, “There is no one more of a goon in Delhi than Arvind Kejriwal. He has engaged in ‘gundagardi’ (hooliganism) for the past ten years, cheating the people and providing dirty water.”

In response, AAP leader Manish Sisodia criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for allegedly employing “threats” and “hooliganism” as the election nears. Sisodia confidently asserted that voters would respond to the BJP’s tactics by re-electing Kejriwal as Chief Minister. “The public will retaliate against BJP’s hooliganism at the polls. Baba Saheb established a democratic system, making people the true masters. The BJP is now intimidating the people. But we, as disciples of Baba Saheb and Bhagat Singh, will not be afraid of your tactics. The citizens are determined to teach you a lesson and re-elect Kejriwal,” he stated.

Kejriwal previously accused the BJP of plotting ahead of the elections, alleging plans to misuse the Delhi Police and that party workers would impersonate Election Commission personnel to mislead voters. He suggested that the BJP is heading for a significant defeat. “The Aam Aadmi Party is poised for a landmark victory, while the BJP is heading towards its worst loss. I warn that BJP members will go door-to-door in slum areas pretending to be from the Election Commission, attempting to bribe voters and mislead them,” he alleged.

Additionally, BJP candidate Parvesh Verma from New Delhi claimed that the party would win the seat by a substantial margin and that Kejriwal would fail to secure his deposit, finishing third. “We will win by at least 20,000 votes, possibly more. Kejriwal will come in third and lose his deposit here,” Verma said.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey also suggested that Kejriwal would lose in New Delhi, stating that the Delhi Police had managed his “goons,” and that the Purvanchali community now feels more secure under the BJP due to benefits provided in the Union Budget. “Delhi Police has kept all of his (Kejriwal’s) goons in check. The Purvanchalis perceive safety with the BJP, which is why AAP’s voter base is diminishing,” he added.

As of Monday, the final day of election campaigning, Delhi is set to vote on February 5, with results to be declared on February 8.
