In the case of EVM tampering during the Khanna Municipal Council elections, the Punjab-Haryana High Court has issued a notice to the Punjab government and sought its response. The petition has sought a CBI investigation into the matter, regarding which the next hearing of the case will now be held in March.
This petition has been filed in the Punjab-Haryana High Court by Congress councilor Satnam Singh. The complainant said in the petition that on December 21, after the Khanna Municipal Council elections, when the votes were being counted, an EVM was tampered. An FIR was registered against unknown persons in this regard, but no one was arrested.
It is alleged that an AAP candidate along with his colleagues tamaperd this EVM machine because the counting of three out of four phases had been completed, in which the Congress candidate was leading. After this, re-elections were held on December 23. In which the Congress candidate, who is the petitioner, won again.
Therefore, now Satnam Singh has demanded a CBI investigation into the FIR registered in the EVM tampering case because the government is deliberately not investigating the matter. The High Court has ordered the Punjab government to file a reply on this petition by March 7.
