‘Conspiracy to defame Punjab’: AAP Punjab Chief Aman Arora targets Centre over deportation row

Arora also alleged that the central government is trying to create a negative narrative against Punjab

104 Indian citizens were deported by the US who arrived at Amritsar International Airport on Tuesday. These deported citizens included 31 from Punjab, 35 from Haryana, 33 from Gujarat, 3 from UP and 2 from Maharashtra. After this incident, sharp reactions have been seen in political circles.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) surrounded the central government on this issue and raised the question that when the deported people were from all over the country, then why was the plane landed only in Amritsar. The party’s Punjab president Aman Arora accused the central government of discriminating against Punjab. He said that the central government has always discriminated against Punjab and by landing this plane in Amritsar, an attempt is being made to tarnish the image of Punjabis.

Minister Aman Arora also said that if this plane had landed in Delhi or any other international airport, it would have caused embarrassment for the central government, as the government claims its good relations with America. He said that by choosing Amritsar, an attempt is being made to send the message that the people of Punjab are mainly involved in illegal immigration, thereby damaging the image of the state.

Arora also alleged that the central government is trying to create a negative narrative against Punjab. This is not just a matter of landing a plane, but there is a big conspiracy behind it, in which an attempt is being made to defame Punjab. If the government’s intentions were clear, this plane could have landed in Delhi, Mumbai or any other major airport.

After landing at Amritsar airport, all 104 Indian citizens had to go through immigration and customs process. Many of them said that they went to America in search of a better future, but were deported due to visa-related problems. Some families said that they had taken huge loans to send their children abroad and now they are in deep trouble.
