Mumbai: Renowned singer Udit Narayan has found himself in the midst of controversy after a viral video showed him kissing a female fan during a concert. The incident, which occurred while he was performing Tip Tip Barsa Pani, sparked widespread criticism on social media, with many questioning the appropriateness of his actions. Amid the backlash, social media personality Uorfi Javed weighed in on the debate, cheekily remarking, “He’s 69, unka age hi waisa hai”, implying that his age may have influenced his behaviour.
In response to the criticism, Udit Narayan defended himself, stating, “Fans can be very passionate, but we are decent people. Some express their love differently—through handshakes or kisses. It shouldn’t be blown out of proportion.” Supporting him, singer Abhijeet added, “He’s Udit Narayan! Women chase him, he didn’t pull anyone close. Let him enjoy his success—he’s a romantic singer, after all.” Despite the controversy, the veteran playback singer remains one of Bollywood’s most beloved voices, known for hits like Dil To Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai.
