Delhi Election Results 2025 LIVE: AAP’s Big guns Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia lose, Atishi wins

New Delhi: In a drastic turn of events, Aam Aadmi Party Big guns Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia have lost their respective seats. Manish Sisodia contested from Jangpura whereas Arvind Kejriwal was fielded at New Delhi seat by AAP. On the other hand, Atishi has won her seat Kalkaji by a slim margin against Ramesh Bidhuri.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 48 Assembly seats while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is ahead in 22 Assembly seats as of 12.30 pm on Saturday, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI). Counting for the Delhi Assembly elections commenced at 8 am on Saturday, with the top contenders, AAP and the BJP, vying to form the government in the national capital. Voting for all 70 seats of the Delhi Assembly took place on Wednesday, February 5, and several candidates in the fray visited nearby temples to offer their prayers ahead of the results.

Voting for the Delhi Assembly poll 2025 took place in a single phase on February 5. According to the Election Commission of India (EC) data, the approximate voter turnout after the Delhi Assembly election stood at 60.54 percent, with the North East district recording the highest voting percentage — 66.25 percent. The lowest polling was recorded in the South East Delhi district at 56.40 percent.

The incumbent AAP, BJP, and Congress are the main contenders of Delhi poll 2025. AAP is eyeing a third straight full term in Delhi. AAP, which has dominated the last two Assembly polls in Delhi, won 62 out of 70 seats in the 2020 election, while the BJP won eight. Congress, which ruled Delhi for 15 years, failed to open its account in the last two Assembly polls and is predicted to perform similarly this time as well.

Exit poll results for the Delhi election were released on Wednesday evening after the voting for the Assembly poll concluded. Most exit polls projected a comfortable win for the BJP in the Delhi Assembly election, while the incumbent AAP is predicted to be failing to hit a hattrick. Exit polls projected another rout for Congress.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa wins Rajouri Garden

BJP Manjinder Singh Sirsa declared the winner from Rajouri Garden. As per Election Commission, Sirsa got 68,200 votes and defeated Dhanwati Chandela from AAP.

Atishi wins, retains Kalkaji seat

Chief Minister Atishi has won from Kalkaji seat. She managed to retain her seat and secured win against BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri.

Manish Sisodia concedes defeat

AAP candidate from the Jangpura constituency, Manish Sisodia concedes defeat, says, “Party workers fought well; we all did hard work. People have supported us as well. But, I lose by 600 votes. I congratulate the candidate who won. I hope he will work for the constituency

AAP’s Virendra Singh Kadian wins from Delhi Cantt

Virendra Singh Kadian, AAP candidate from Delhi Cantt emerged victorious after 8 rounds of voting. He got 22191 votes and defeated BJP’s Bhuvan Tanwar by margin of 2029 votes.

BJP’s Tilak Ram Gupta wins from Tri Nagar

After 14 rounds of voting, BJP Candidate Tilak Ram Gupta has emerged victorious from Tri Nagar seat. Monu got 58,836  votes and defeated AAP’s Preeti Jitendra Tomar.

AAP’s Kuldeep Kumar Monu wins from Kondli

After 12 rounds of voting, AAP Candidate Kuldeep Kumar Monu has emerged victorious from Kondli seat. Monu got 61,609 votes and defeated BJP’s Priyanka Gautam by margin of 6366 votes.

 

As per the Election Commission, the BJP now leads at total 45 seats whereas AAP is now leading at 25 seats. Earlier, AAP gained momentum and narrowed the gap but as of now AAP is restricted to 25 seats. Earlier, it was said to be a triangular contest but as the counting progresses, the anticipated triangular contest appears to be diminishing. The Indian National Congress is not leading in any seat according to the initial counts. The primary battle is unfolding between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Amanatullah Khan back in race as AAP leads

AAP Candidate Amanatullah Khan who was trailing has come back in race. After 4 rounds of voting, Amanatullah Khan is leading with 8725 seats. Earlier, BJP candidate Manish Chaudhary was ahead in Okhla seat which came as shocker for AAP, Congress and AIMIM. Total there are 23 rounds of counting, as per the Election Commission.

AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal trails

AAP supremo and former Delhi chief minister is trailing from the New Delhi seat against BJP’s Parvesh Verma. Kejriwal is behind by a slim margin of 225 votes. Total there are 13 rounds of counting out of which, 6 rounds have taken place as per the data by election commission.
