The body of a person was found lying under suspicious circumstances on the vacant land of a cowshed in Nigdu, Karnal in Haryana. The deceased was identified as 56-year-old Subhash Chand, a resident of Aahun village in Kaithal. Initial investigation revealed that he committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance.
The family alleged that Subhash Chand was embroiled in a land dispute for a long time and Ramchandra of Kirmach village was pressurizing him to get the registry done. The family has complained about the matter to the police. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
The deceased’s brother Ramesh said that Subhash Chand had two acres of land in village Pastana since 2012. But a person named Ramchandra wanted to occupy it. A case was also going on in the court regarding this dispute. While fighting the case, Subhash spent a lot of money and came under mental stress. He sold his ancestral house and started living on rent in Nilokheri.
According to Ramesh, Subhash Chand came to the village with his wife Meena Devi on February 7. On February 8, he went to Nigdu on a bike with nephew Bablu Kumar, where he left him at the bus stand. Late in the evening of February 9, the family received information that Subhash Chand’s body was lying in the vacant land of Nigdu Gaushala. As soon as the information was received, the family reached the spot and identified the body.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and called the FSL team for investigation. After examining the body, the team said that Subhash Chand had consumed some poisonous substance. In a statement given to the police, elder brother Ramesh Chand said that Ramchandra was constantly pressuring Subhash to get the land registered and also threatened him, due to which he started living under stress.
