Guru Ravidas Jayanti procession in Jalandhar today: Traffic diverted; 1 thousand personnel deployed

The district administration has issued orders to keep all liquor and meat shops and shops closed in the city in view of the procession to be taken out on the occasion of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji's birth anniversary today.

In Jalandhar, a fair has started at Satguru Ravidas Dham located at Boota Mandi on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj. For this, a procession of Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj ji will be taken out in the entire Jalandhar city on Tuesday. Jalandhar City Police has diverted traffic from many points regarding the procession. More than 1000 police personnel have been deployed in the city for security.

The procession will pass through these squares

This procession will pass through Satguru Ravidas Dham located at Boota Mandi, Shri Guru Ravidas Chowk, Dr. Ambedkar Chowk (Nakodar Chowk), Bhagwan Valmiki Chowk (Jyoti Chowk), Shri Ram Chowk (PNB Chowk) and Milap Chowk, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Adda Hoshiarpur, Mai Heera Gate, Patel Chowk, Sabzi Mandi Chowk, Basti Adda and will end back at Satguru Ravidas Dham Boota Mandi from Guru Ravidas Chowk.

Liquor and meat shops will remain closed

The district administration has issued orders to keep all liquor and meat shops and shops closed in the city in view of the procession to be taken out on the occasion of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji’s birth anniversary today.

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Himanshu Aggarwal had said that keeping in mind the sentiments of all on the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji, orders have been given to keep liquor and meat shops closed in the area from where the procession will be taken out.
