Washington: US President Donald Trump threatened the Palestinian militant organization Hamas, saying that if all the hostages kidnapped from Israel are not released by Saturday, everything in Gaza will be destroyed. According to news agency AFP, Trump said that if all the hostages are not returned by 12 noon on Saturday, then I think the ceasefire agreement should be canceled.
Trump told the media in the Oval Office-
“The decision to continue or end the ceasefire is to be taken by Israel. But all the remaining hostages should be released together, not in groups of three or four. We want the release of all the hostages together. However, I am speaking this only on my behalf.”
Earlier, Hamas had also threatened to cancel the ceasefire with Israel. It said that Israel was violating the agreement.
Hamas will know what I mean
Trump said that he will also talk to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the deadline of Saturday. However, he did not give much detail about this. Trump said that Hamas will know what I want to say.
Earlier, he had talked about occupying Gaza and building a city resort there. Then he said that the Palestinian people should be displaced from Gaza and settled in Jordan and Egypt. However, both Jordan and Egypt opposed this plan.
Jordan and Egypt threaten to stop aid
Regarding this, the US President threatened that if Jordan and Egypt do not give shelter to the Palestinians, then America will stop giving them aid. Trump is going to meet Jordan’s King Abdullah II in the capital Washington this week.
Trump earlier told Fox News that Palestinians would not have the right to return to Gaza after the US takes over. He said that they will not do so because they will have better homes there. In other words, I am talking about building a permanent home for them.
The ceasefire deal will be completed in three phases
On 7 October 2023, Hamas attacked Israel’s border area and killed 1200 people. While more than 250 people were taken hostage. A ceasefire deal was signed between Hamas and Israel in Qatar on 19 January for the release of these people.
In this deal, both the parties have to exchange prisoners. This deal will be completed in three phases. In this, hostages will be exchanged for 42 days. So far, hostages have been exchanged five times.
