Three new criminal laws soon be implemented in Haryana, CM held review meeting with officials

CM Saini said that according to the new provisions, all the arrangements including high speed internet system in police stations, appearance and testimony of the accused through video conferencing, monitoring of zero FIR should be taken forward at a fast pace, so that the victims can get justice as soon as possible.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini held an important meeting with the officials of Police, Jail, Prosecution and Forensic Department under the Home Department regarding ensuring 100% implementation of three new criminal laws in the state by February 28. While giving instructions, the Chief Minister said that along with infrastructure development, training should be provided to the concerned employees to implement the new laws on the ground.

CM Saini said that according to the new provisions, all the arrangements including high speed internet system in police stations, appearance and testimony of the accused through video conferencing, monitoring of zero FIR should be taken forward at a fast pace, so that the victims can get justice as soon as possible.

While giving instructions, the Chief Minister said that arrangements should be made in coordination with the courts for the testimony of witnesses through video conferencing. The number of forensic mobile vans should be increased in the state. It was informed in the meeting that at present 23 mobile forensic science units are operating in the state, their number will be increased to 40.

While giving instructions, the CM said that there should be continuous monitoring of zero FIR. Also, inter-state zero FIRs should be monitored and those FIRs should be sent to the concerned agency immediately so that there is no delay in getting justice. In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department, Dr. Sumita Mishra informed the Chief Minister that most of the provisions have been implemented under the new criminal laws.

Inter-operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) has been fully integrated with Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS). Challans are being presented in the courts through online medium. Instructions have been issued to the officials of all the concerned departments to fully implement these laws by February 28 by adopting the necessary changes as per the new provisions.
