Patna: The Bihar government, under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, carried out a transfer of 12 IAS officers. Several of these officers were also given additional responsibilities across various departments. The General Administration Department has released a notification regarding these personnel changes.
Notable among the transfers is Udayan Mishra, formerly the Director of Science, Technology, and Technical Education, who has now been promoted to Special Secretary of the Tourism Department, also taking on the role of Tourism Director.
Pawan Kumar Sinha, who previously served as the Land Settlement Officer in Jamui district, has been reassigned as the Additional Secretary in the Water Resources Department.
Shyam Bihari Meena has stepped down from his position as Director of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department and formerly held the role of Director of Planning and Training.
Rajesh Kumar, who was the District Settlement Officer in Purnia, has been promoted to Additional Secretary in the Parliamentary Affairs Department of the Bihar government.
Abhay Jha, an IAS officer from the 2017 batch who previously managed Bihar State Text Book Prakash Nigam Ltd., has been appointed as Joint Secretary of the Rural Works Department.
Yogesh Kumar Sagar, also from the 2017 IAS batch and serving as Managing Director of the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation, has taken on the role of Director of the Social Welfare Department, along with additional responsibilities as Joint Secretary for the same department.
Dinesh Kumar, the Bhagalpur Divisional Commissioner, has been given the additional charge of Commissioner for the Munger Division.
Animesh Kumar Parashar, the Commissioner of Patna Municipal Corporation, will now also serve as Managing Director of the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Corporation.
Ahmed Mahmood, serving as Additional Secretary in Science, Technology, and Technical Education, has been assigned an additional role as Director of Technical Education.
These personnel transfers are part of the state government’s broader effort to enhance administrative effectiveness and implement developmental policies across various sectors.
Previously, on February 5, the Nitish Kumar administration announced transfers for seven IPS officers, which included those at the ranks of Additional Director General (ADG) and Inspector General (IG), along with the appointment of five new IPS officers and two women to significant positions.
