New Delhi: YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahabadia has approached the Supreme Court to consolidate several FIRs filed against him across India due to his recent inappropriate remarks during a guest appearance on the show ‘India’s Got Latent.’
Senior advocate Abhinav Chandrachud, representing Allahabadia, brought the matter before a bench led by Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, requesting an urgent hearing. Chandrachud informed the bench that multiple FIRs have been lodged against Allahabadia, and the Assam Police has summoned him for questioning today.
CJI Khanna stated that he does not permit oral mentions and confirmed that the case has been scheduled for a later date. On February 11, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the Guwahati Police had filed an FIR against Allahabadia and other YouTubers and social influencers, including Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija, for promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit discussions on ‘India’s Got Latent.’ FIRs have been filed against them in both Maharashtra and Assam.
