Chandigarh: Earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR on Monday morning at around 5:36 am. Two and a half hours later, at 8 am, an earthquake also occurred in Siwan, Bihar. People felt strong tremors of the earthquake in 5 districts of Haryana, Sonipat, Rohtak, Gurugram, Faridabad and Bahadurgarh of Jhajjar. The intensity of the earthquake was measured at 4 on the Richter scale.
The epicenter of the earthquake was New Delhi. Its depth is said to be five kilometers. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) gave this information on social media (X).

Due to the strong tremors of the earthquake, people in many areas panicked and came out of their houses. However, so far there has been no report of any loss of life or property.

Everyone is requested to remain calm and follow safety precautions. Along with this, there is a need to be alert about possible tremors. Officials are keeping a close watch on the situation.

Minor tremors occur every 2-3 years
An official told news agency PTI that its epicenter was near Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education in Dhaula Kuan. According to officials, mild tremors are felt in this area every two to three years. Earlier in 2015, an earthquake of 3.3 magnitude was recorded here. A loud sound was also heard along with the earthquake, which scared many people.
