Gajraj Rao and Renuka Shahane team up for new comedy ‘Dupahiya’

The plot unfolds in the fictional village of Dhadakpur, which is gearing up to celebrate 25 years of being crime-free. However, their tranquility is disrupted when a coveted motorbike, referred to as Dupahiya, goes missing. As the village prepares for both a significant anniversary celebration and an impending wedding, the residents embark on a frantic quest to recover the stolen bike before time runs out.

The show’s creators teased the story on Instagram, asking, “Breaking News: India’s only crime-free village reports its first-ever crime. Who has taken this beloved bike? Find out in #DupahiyaOnPrime, premiering on March 7, 2025.”

Nikhil Madhok, Prime Video India’s Head of Originals, noted that the series combines humor and heart while capturing the essence of small-town India. With its colorful characters and unexpected turns, along with stellar performances, “Dupahiya” aims to be a delightful family viewing experience.

Director Sonam Nair expressed her pride in the project, describing it as a joyful celebration of small-town life filled with humor and chaos.
