Chandigarh: The Punjab government has come into action on issues like de-addiction in Punjab, preventing suicides of debt-ridden farmers and saving the youth deported from America from depression. The government will soon formulate a mental health policy. The government has started preparations for this. Meetings are being held with various stakeholders to formulate the policy. Soon this policy will be prepared and brought to the cabinet for approval. This claim has been made by Punjab’s Health Minister Balbir Singh. He said that our effort is to make Punjab “Rangla Punjab.”

Opinion will be taken from PGI and various experts
Health Minister Balbir Singh said that the policy will be worked on in great detail. Ministers of all departments, secretaries, health department officers who are working for de-addiction will be involved in this. Experts from PGI and All India Medical Institute, private practitioners of Punjab, NGOs and police officers will be consulted for this.
A special program has been organized for this. From where everyone’s opinion will be taken. During this, all the mental health issues. Whether it is suicide among farmers and youth, as now youth are coming back after being deported from outside. That will be discussed. How to get them out. Mental health policy is being made to get them out of depression.
