Jaipur: In a recent operation against cyber fraud, the Malakheda police in Rajasthan’s Alwar district raided Dhola Palas village, leading to the arrest of two juveniles involved in online scams.
Authorities seized three mobile phones utilized in the fraudulent schemes. Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Nain mentioned that a specialized task force, headed by Additional Superintendent of Police Dr. Tejpal Singh and DSP Traffic Mukesh Chaudhary, has been established to address cyber crimes such as online fraud, sextortion, and scams on platforms like OLX.
This operation was conducted by SHO Hitesh Sharma and his team, who used intelligence and technical resources to successfully locate and detain the two juveniles engaged in the cyber fraud. A case has been logged, and the investigation is ongoing.
The juveniles employed a deceitful method involving fake tax notifications. They sent SMS alerts to random individuals, imitating official bank messages regarding funds being credited. Victims were misled into returning money, believing it had accidentally been deposited into their accounts.
The operation was executed by SHO Hitesh Sharma, ASI Umardin, Head Constable Sugan Singh, and Constables Suresh Chand and Rinku Ram.
Earlier in January, the Rajasthan Police launched Operation Cyber Shield to combat cybercrime, focusing on resolving complaints, identifying hotspots, blocking dubious SIM cards, and raising awareness about cyber safety.
This initiative, led by Director General of Police (DGP) Utkal Ranjan Sahu, aims to crack down on cybercriminals, address pending cyber cases, and educate the public on cybersecurity.
Given the rising incidence of cyber crimes, police are continually implementing new strategies to combat these offenses, with the Alwar operation being part of this broader effort, officials confirmed.
