In view of this, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in three districts for February 27 and 28. Orange alert warning has been issued in Chamba, Kangra and Kullu districts. Heavy snowfall may occur in one or two spells in these districts during two days.

A yellow alert has been issued for heavy snowfall in Mandi, Shimla, Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti districts.

Today, a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rain and snowfall in 8 districts namely Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Kullu, Kangra, Chamba, Mandi and Shimla. There may be rain and snowfall in higher altitudes tonight. Tomorrow, there is a yellow alert in all the other 10 districts except Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti.

Sirmaur receives 86% less rain than normal

Sirmaur has received 86 percent less rainfall than normal and Kinnaur has received 80 percent less rainfall than normal. This has caused losses to the farmers and gardeners as well as the tourism industry.
