Science subject has been abolished in 66 government schools of Himachal Pradesh. The Directorate of Higher Education has issued a notification regarding zero enrollment of students. The posts of 201 lecturers posted in these schools have been shifted to other schools. Science faculty has been closed in one school in Bilaspur, seven in Chamba, three in Kullu, four in Kangra, two in Lahaul-Spiti, 10 in Mandi and 39 schools in Shimla district.
The posts of teachers of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects have been closed from these schools. The teachers will now be transferred to other schools where there is a need. This notification has been issued under the rationalization of lecturers.
On the other hand, the Directorate of Elementary Education has also completed the preparations for the transfer of 450 surplus TGTs. These TGTs were more in proportion to the number of students in the schools. They will now be sent to other schools.
