Coimbatore: Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a fierce critique of the ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu, accusing its leaders of corruption and mismanagement. During the inauguration of BJP district offices in Coimbatore, Tiruvannamalai, and Ramanathapuram, Shah stated, “The DMK leaders have mastered the art of corruption. One is implicated in a cash-for-jobs scandal, another in money laundering and illegal sand mining, and a third is facing charges for disproportionate assets.”

Shah dismissed Chief Minister MK Stalin’s claims that Tamil Nadu has been deprived of central funds, asserting, “MK Stalin’s statement is false. The Modi government has allocated ₹5 lakh crore to Tamil Nadu over the past five years.” He added that Stalin often claims the state has been treated unjustly by the Centre, but a comparison of funding during the UPA and NDA regimes shows that the real injustice occurred under the UPA.

Mocking the DMK, Shah suggested that those involved in corruption should join Stalin’s party, saying it seems like the DMK has opened its doors to all corrupt individuals in society. He accused Stalin and his son of raising various issues to distract from real problems and mentioned an upcoming meeting on delimitation, clarifying that PM Modi has assured that no southern state will lose seats after delimitation.

Shah confidently stated that the BJP aims to form a government in Tamil Nadu in 2026, promising to establish a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) administration that will end nepotism and corruption in the state and remove individuals engaged in anti-India activities. “Prepare for the formation of an NDA government in Tamil Nadu. In 2026, we will bring a new era for the state, eradicating corruption and nepotism,” he declared.
