Police have taken a big action against drug smugglers in Manali of Kullu district. Police have arrested two chitta (drug) smugglers from Punjab from a hotel in Manali. Based on the information, police raided room number 106 of Hotel Tirupati Classic and arrested two youths with 29.700 grams of Chitta.
During the search, police found a blue colored backpack. Chitta was kept in it. The arrested accused have been identified as Samargil and Sameer Gill of Amritsar, Punjab. Both accused are said to be 21 years old.
Police have arrested both of them and registered a case. Police are investigating this case under the leadership of Chief Constable Jagdish Kumar. Police will present the accused in court and demand remand. So that other smugglers can be traced by interrogating them.
DSP Manali KD Sharma said that the police is working under the policy of zero tolerance against drug abuse. A special campaign is being run to root out the drug trade in Manali. No one will be spared.
