Jalandhar Rural Police intensifies action on drugs: 14 arrested and 9 NDPS cases in past 45 days

Police teams recovered 8 grams of heroin, 12 capsules, and 1,847 intoxicating tablets during the operations.

Jalandhar: Stepping up its drive against drug smuggling, the Jalandhar Rural Police has registered nine cases under the NDPS Act and arrested 14 accused in Sub-Division Nakodar between January 1 and February 25 this year.

Police teams recovered 8 grams of heroin, 12 capsules, and 1,847 intoxicating tablets during the operations.

Then divulging details, Senior Superintendent of Police Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh said efforts were being intensified to dismantle drug networks operating in the region. He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.

To further strengthen the crackdown, special teams have been constituted in all sub-divisions of Jalandhar Rural under the supervision of sub-divisional DSPs to make the campaign more effective.

The SSP Khakh reiterated the Punjab police’s commitment to curbing drug-related crimes and ensuring a safer environment for the public.
