Police neutralizes key accused in Amritsar grenade attacks, solves all Punjab blast cases

Punjab: Police in Batala Punjab on Thursday claimed that they have successfully traced and solved the grenade blast cases in Jaintipur and Raimal, marking the resolution of all grenade blast incidents in Punjab.  In a statement released by police the officials said that the operation led to the arrest of key accused Mohit and Vishal..

Punjab: Police in Batala Punjab on Thursday claimed that they have successfully traced and solved the grenade blast cases in Jaintipur and Raimal, marking the resolution of all grenade blast incidents in Punjab. 

In a statement released by police the officials said that the operation led to the arrest of key accused Mohit and Vishal. Mohit, who hurled the grenade, while being taken for weapon recovery, opened fire on the police party. 

The statement also reads that in the ensuing retaliatory fire, he sustained injuries and has been shifted to Civil Hospital, Batala, for treatment.  

Earlier on January 15 a grenade attack was carried out at the residence of Pappu Jaintipuria , Amritsar, in Jaintipur.  

After that on February 17, 2025 another  grenade was lobbed at the residence of Constable of Punjab Police in Raimal.  

Both attacks were claimed by Happy Pachhia , a USA-based terrorist, through social media posts.  

Officials have said that during the operation, One 30-bore pistol, used by Mohit to fire at the police party.  

Meanwhile DGP Punjab in a post on X, shared “In a major breakthrough, Punjab Police busts a terror module backed by Babbar Khalsa International (#BKI) – Inter-Services Intelligence (#ISI-#Pakistan) responsible for attacks in #Batala and solves the attack cases in Jaintipur & Raimal carried out on Jan 15, 2025 & Feb 17, 2025 respectively.”

“BatalaPolice apprehends 2 operatives: Mohit and Vishal. The terror module was masterminded by #USA based terrorist Happy Passian & #Pak-based Harvinder Rinda. The operatives of the terror module included man who hurled explosive substance, while being taken for weapon recovery, opened fire on the police party. In the ensuing retaliatory fire, he sustained injuries and has been shifted to Civil Hospital, Batala.”
