Patna: Union Minister and BJP MP Giriraj Singh criticized RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for his comments regarding the recent Cabinet expansion, stating, “Thieves see everyone as thieves.” He referred to a saying that suggests those with a guilty conscience often project their own faults onto others, implying that Yadav’s criticisms stem from the past actions of Lalu Yadav’s government, which he labeled as a “government of gangsters.”

Earlier, Tejashwi Yadav had sharply criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in light of the Cabinet expansion, arguing that the people of Bihar desire a “newer vehicle” for governance rather than a “Khatara Gaadi” (outdated vehicle). He claimed that Kumar lacks vision and a clear roadmap, asserting that after 20 years in power, the public is now disillusioned with him.

Yadav further pointed out the questionable backgrounds of some newly inducted Cabinet members, labeling this expansion as the last for Kumar, who he believes is losing credibility. He accused the JD(U) of being completely overtaken by the BJP, suggesting that the BJP’s aim is to eliminate the JD(U) as a political force. Yadav claimed that while many JD(U) leaders are still present, their loyalty lies with the BJP, and he dismissed the BJP’s aspirations for dominance in the state as unrealistic.

As Bihar prepares for the Assembly elections later this year, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expanded his Cabinet on February 26, with seven BJP MLAs taking their oaths as ministers. The newly inducted ministers include Sanjay Saraogi, Sunil Kumar, Jibesh Mishra, Krishna Kumar Mantoo, Motilal Prasad, Vijay Kumar Mandal, and Raju Kumar Singh. The Bihar Assembly elections are anticipated to occur in October-November 2025.
