Mumbai: Amitabh Bachchan has recently addressed the buzz surrounding his enigmatic tweet that simply stated, “Time to go,” which had many fans speculating about his potential retirement from acting and his role in “Kaun Banega Crorepati.”
During the latest episode of “Kaun Banega Crorepati 16,” he humorously tackled the speculation directly. In a promo clip, when a contestant jokingly asked him to dance, Bachchan quipped, “Kaun nachega? Arre bhai sahab, naachne ke liye yahan nahi rakha hai humko,” eliciting laughter from the audience.
The topic soon shifted to his cryptic tweet, prompting an audience member to inquire about its meaning. With his trademark humor, Bachchan responded, “There was a line that said, ‘It’s time to go…’ so what’s wrong with that?” When another fan asked, “Where are you going?” he playfully replied, “It means it’s time to go…” but was interrupted by the audience chanting, “Aap yahan se kahin nahi jaa sakte!” (You can’t leave from here!)
Bachchan then dispelled the rumors, clarifying, “Arre bhai sahab, it’s time for me to go to work… What are you guys saying! And when we finish here at 2 AM, by the time I reach home, it’s 1-2 AM already. I was writing, and I got so sleepy that I fell asleep right there… ‘Time to go,’ and I just dozed off!”
In a recent blog post, the 82-year-old actor reflected on themes of saturation and limited space, discussing how the overwhelming spread of information can lead to confusion about direction. Following this, he tweeted “Time to go,” which only fueled further speculation.
