“PMO in constant touch, assured all possible help”: Uttarakhand CM Dhami

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in regular communication with state officials and has promised all possible support. So far, 47 out of 55 workers from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) have been successfully rescued from the avalanche site in Mana village, Chamoli district, along.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in regular communication with state officials and has promised all possible support. So far, 47 out of 55 workers from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) have been successfully rescued from the avalanche site in Mana village, Chamoli district, along with 14 civilians rescued by the Indian Army.

“We are making every effort to rescue the BRO workers as quickly as possible. I spoke with PM Modi, who assured us of full support… The Prime Minister’s Office is in constant contact with us. Fourteen more individuals have been rescued, and they are all in good condition; we hope to rescue the remaining individuals soon,” CM Dhami told reporters in Dehradun.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Modi reached out to the Uttarakhand Chief Minister to get updates on the ongoing rescue operations in Chamoli district. “Respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji called to inquire about the rescue efforts for the workers trapped in Mana, Chamoli district,” CM Dhami shared on X. “He also sought detailed information on the weather conditions in the state. During our conversation, the Prime Minister assured that the central government would provide all possible assistance to manage any emergencies,” he added.

On Saturday morning, 14 civilians were rescued from the avalanche site in Mana village. Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari reported, “Four helicopters are being deployed for the rescue operation by the Army. Out of the 55 individuals, 47 have been rescued from Mana. We have transported seven people to Joshimath Hospital for treatment, where they are under medical observation. Three of them are stable… I am hopeful that the remaining individuals will be rescued soon.” The Uttarakhand government has also issued helpline numbers for those seeking assistance or information regarding the avalanche.
