Amritsar: No alert was issued by the Meteorological Department for Punjab today. However, there is a possibility of rain in the districts adjoining Himachal Pradesh today. After the rain in the last few days, the average maximum temperature in the state of Punjab has dropped by 0.5 degrees Celsius. This is 1.7 degrees Celsius below normal.
The highest maximum temperature in the state was 24.1 degrees Celsius, which was recorded in Bathinda. According to the information received from the Meteorological Department, a new western disturbance is becoming active from March 2. Which can affect the areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Its effect is also likely to be felt in the plains of Punjab on March 3. On this day, light and less than normal rain may occur in all the districts.
It’s going to be hot in March
Even though March started with rain, the Meteorological Department has predicted that the month of March will also remain hot. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature in Punjab and surrounding states is expected to be 2 degrees higher than normal in the first week of March. Whereas, the temperature will remain higher than normal from 7 to 14 March.
