Chandigarh: Punjab Congress’ newly appointed in-charge and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is on his two-day visit. Today he is in Chandigarh and will leave for Delhi in the evening after holding a meeting with senior leaders at the party office here. On Friday, he met workers in Amritsar and paid obeisance at the Golden Temple.
After this, he did a road show in Amritsar, in which he was warmly welcomed by the party workers. On Saturday, Bhupesh Baghel will hold an important meeting with senior leaders of Punjab Congress in Chandigarh. In this meeting, the party’s upcoming strategy, improvement in the organization and the defeat in the 2022 assembly elections will be reviewed.
This time the Congress does not want to leave any stone unturned in preparing for the 2027 assembly elections, so this visit of Baghel is considered very important. After the meeting, he will leave for Delhi at 7.30 pm.
Support of workers in Amritsar, strength seen in road show
During his visit to Amritsar, Bhupesh Baghel paid obeisance at the Golden Temple and met workers during a road show. He said that work will have to be done at the grassroots level to strengthen the Punjab Congress. During this, a road show was taken out in the city, in which Congress workers gave him a warm welcome.
Sharp attack on Kejriwal, called him greedy for power
Bhupesh Baghel launched a scathing attack on Delhi Chief Minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal. He said that Kejriwal is only greedy for power. It has not been even a month since he lost the Delhi elections and he is thinking of going to the Rajya Sabha. He does politics only for himself, not for the public.
Meanwhile, when he was asked a question about Navjot Singh Sidhu, he said thank you and left from there.
Speculations about changing the Congress president were dismissed
Recently, speculations about the change of Punjab Congress President had intensified. On this, Bhupesh Baghel clarified that there is no need to change the president at the moment. He said, “These are all rumors and there is no truth in them. The decision of any change in Congress is taken by the high command.” His statement is expected to put an end to the ongoing discussions in the party.
Congress busy preparing for 2027
