Traffic advisory issued for Gurugram Municipal elections: Key routes to be closed, alternate route suggested

Security arrangements have been tightened in Gurugram for the municipal elections. Senior police officers are reviewing the security arrangements in their respective areas.

Gurugram: Security arrangements have been tightened in Gurugram for the municipal elections. Senior police officers are reviewing the security arrangements in their respective areas. Inter-state checkpoints have been set up at 9 places and inter-district checkpoints at 9 places in the district. There will be 24-hour police vigil here.

The concerned police officers have been inspecting all the polling booths for two days. Especially, more attention is being paid to sensitive and hypersensitive booths. At the same time, Rajendra Park police station SHO took out a flag march to establish coordination between the public and the police from the security point of view in view of the elections.

To ensure security, police conducted flag marches in areas of village Dharampur, Dhankot, Kherki Majra, Daulatabad, Dhanwapur, Jahajgarh, Babupur and Rajendra Park, Surat Nagar Phase 1, Phase 2, Tekchand Nagar adjoining the Delhi border.

The SHO said that the purpose of the inspection was to take stock of the security arrangements in the area during the elections, to thwart any threat attempts, and to check the alertness and preparedness of the police.

Traffic police issued advisory

In view of security during voting, the road leading to ITI Chowk red light via Skoda showroom after turning left from 32 milestone while going towards Delhi from Aisa Chowk service road has been closed from 5 AM today.

The vehicular movement from Skoda showroom to ITI Chowk will remain closed for 12 hours from 5 am to 5 pm on March 1. Similarly, this route has been closed for all vehicles from 5 pm to 12 midnight on March 2. Drivers going in this direction should use other alternative routes to reach their destination.

Police will be arranged like this

-4500 police and home guard personnel at 1109 booths

-Additional police at hyper sensitive and sensitive booths

-All SHOs were asked to remain alert along with their forces in their areas

-Immediate action will be taken against those who disrupt voting

-Incharge of crime branches will be in the field with their teams

-Senior officers will work in coordination with police stations, patrolling parties etc.

Instructions for performing duty diligently

During the voting, all the jawans have been instructed by Police Commissioner Vikas Arora to perform their duties diligently. He said that the police personnel should not be negligent under any circumstances and should remain in alert mode to conduct the elections peacefully. They should start their duties a day before the voting.
