According to the police, the incident took place around 11 pm on Friday night. The deceased Ritesh had come to Shimla with his two friends Ashish and Avdhoot Patil. They had booked a room in Ram B & B Hotel near Kachi Ghati in Shimla. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet.

A fire broke out while they were sleeping

Avdhoot and Ashish told the police that they were staying in room number 106 on the first floor. At night, when the three friends were sleeping, the room suddenly caught fire. They told that Ashish and Avdhoot somehow managed to run out of the room. Ritesh could not run out of the room. Due to this, he was burnt alive.

During this, both the friends also got burnt by the fire, they were treated at IGMC Shimla.

Firefighters brought the fire under control

The hotel management informed the fire department about the incident. In some time, the fire department team reached the spot and after a lot of effort, the fire was brought under control. After extinguishing the fire, the police recovered the burnt body of Ritesh from the room.

Case registered in Baluganj police station

According to information received from the police, a case has been registered at Baluganj police station on the complaint of tourist Ashish. The police is investigating the matter. At present, information about the cause of the fire has not been received.

The postmortem of Ritesh’s body will be conducted at IGMC today. After this, the body will be handed over to the family.
