London: Prime Minister Keir Starmer reaffirmed the UK’s dedication to Ukraine’s sovereignty and security during his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at 10 Downing Street.
After their discussions, Starmer took to X to highlight the UK’s strong opposition to Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine. “It was an honour to welcome @ZelenskyyUa to Downing Street and reiterate my unwavering support for Ukraine,” he posted. He expressed his determination to seek a resolution that would end Russia’s illegal war and ensure a just and lasting peace, safeguarding Ukraine’s future sovereignty and security.

Starmer also shared a video of their meeting, showing him embracing Zelenskyy as he invited him inside, stating, “Action, not just words. Britain stands with Ukraine today and always.” This meeting precedes a European leaders’ summit aimed at reinforcing support for achieving “a just and enduring peace” in Ukraine. Zelenskyy, who was welcomed by enthusiastic supporters outside Downing Street, expressed his appreciation, saying, “London. A meaningful and warm meeting with the Prime Minister.” This encounter followed a tense exchange between Zelenskyy and former US President Donald Trump at the White House the previous day.
