Muktainagar: Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Khadse, expressed her outrage over her daughter and other girls being harassed during a yatra in Kothali village, Jalgaon, during the Maha Shivratri Mela. A group of youths reportedly harassed them and attempted to take pictures with their mobile phones. Although the police were alerted and arrived quickly, the perpetrators had already escaped.

Accompanied by her daughter, supporters, and party workers, Khadse went to the police station to file a complaint. She emphasized her role as a mother rather than a minister, stating, “I have come to the police station not as a Union Minister and MP but as a mother seeking justice.”

Khadse raised alarm over women’s safety, questioning, “If the daughters of families like ours are not safe, then what about the rest? If my own daughter is not safe, what will be the condition of others?” She vowed to demand stringent action from the state government to enforce the law.

She highlighted that if public representatives’ daughters are being harassed, it raises concerns about the safety of ordinary citizens. Khadse plans to meet the Chief Minister to address such incidents. She noted that complaints against the accused had already been made to the police and mentioned that they had recorded videos of several girls. She pointed out the rising crimes against women in the state and urged that many girls hesitate to come forward, but emphasized the importance of speaking out, which is why she filed a complaint.

Raksha Khadse, a prominent Bharatiya Janata Party leader and three-time MP from the Raver Lok Sabha seat, is currently the youngest woman minister in the Modi government, having been elected in 2014, 2019, and 2024. In the latest Modi 3.0 cabinet, she serves as the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports.
