Amritsar: There are chances of rain again in Punjab today. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in the state. Along with rain, there are also chances of strong winds and hailstorm. At the same time, the situation in the state has improved after the rain in the last few days.
From January 1, 2025 to January 2, the state receives 2.3 mm of rain, but now the state has received 5.3 mm i.e. 130 percent more rain. After bright sunshine in the state today, the average maximum temperature has increased by 0.6 degree Celsius, but it is close to normal.
The highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded at 26.6 degrees Celsius in Bathinda. According to the Meteorological Department, now there will be a slight increase in the temperature of the state, which can be up to 2 degrees. But after the effect of western disturbance, the temperature will again decrease by 2 to 3 degrees.
Know where there is rain alert
Today, an orange alert for rain has been issued in 4 districts of Punjab, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur and Sangrur. Whereas a yellow alert for rain has been issued in Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Nawanshahr, SAS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala.
Hailstorm will damage crops
During the last rains, there was hailstorm in Amritsar and Patiala of Punjab. After which there was heavy damage to the crops. Farmers say that if hailstorm occurs again now, it will damage the crops. At the same time, if strong winds also blow along with the rain, then this will also damage the crops and the yield will be less, which will cause loss to the farmers.
