Amritsar: On the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the panel will start the membership campaign by meeting with Shiromani Akali Dal today (Tuesday, 4 March). According to Gurpratap Singh Wadala, rebel Akali Dal leader and member of the committee formed by Akal Takht Sahib, all five members of the panel are unanimous in following the order.

It is worth noting that a few days ago, five members had submitted their report to Sri Akal Takht Sahib. After which Gurpratap Singh Wadala had said that he welcomed the clear instructions of Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh. On March 4, all the members will pay obeisance at the Akal Takht and then formulate a strategy for the membership campaign.

Two members resigned, not yet accepted

Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh had recently directed the remaining five members to start the membership drive. However, earlier this panel was of 7 members. Two members of this panel, SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami and SAD leader Kirpal Singh Badungar, had resigned. But, their resignations have not been accepted yet.

SAD had rejected the panel

Shiromani Akali Dal has already rejected the panel constituted by Akal Takht. Let us tell you that on 2 December 2023, Sukhbir Singh Badal had to resign from the post of party president due to the order of Akal Takht. The party started its separate membership campaign on 20 January 2024, due to which this matter has closed for while.
