Liquor Theft across Ontario: Peel regional police arrest five Punjabi Youths, two at large

The five were remanded in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Peel Regional Police have charged five people in connection with an organized theft ring that targeted multiple liquor stores across Ontario, stealing approximately $238,000 worth of liquor.

Between August 2024 and February 2025, the group used a coordinated strategy to attack 50 locations. Some members would distract employees while others would steal limited quantities of liquor.

After an extensive investigation by the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau, 5 suspects were arrested and charged with theft of more than $5,000.

Anuj Kumar (25), Simarpeet Singh (29) and Sharandeep Singh (25) are facing breach of release orders. Simarjeet Singh (24) is not yet at a known location. He is charged with theft with intent to commit an indictable offence and Prabhjit Singh (29) with conspiracy to commit an offence. The five were remanded in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Police have also issued arrest warrants for two other suspects, both of whom are at large:

1. Jagshir Singh, 28 (Theft over $5,000, Breaking and Entering with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence)

2. Puneet Sehjara, 25 (Theft over $5,000, Breaking and Entering with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence)

“The work of our Criminal Investigation Bureau has been nothing short of exceptional in dismantling this massive organized crime group,” said Deputy Chief Mark Andrews. Peel Police urged the public to contact investigators or Crime Stoppers confidentially if they have any information.
