Mumbai: Actress Kritika Kamra recently shared her perspective on her acting journey, emphasizing that she has always stayed true to her values and never compromised her ethics to achieve success.
“I’ve always believed that staying true to myself is the key to long-term success,” Kritika said. “I’ve never sold my soul or compromised my ethics to make it big. My journey has always been about being proud of the choices I make.”
For Kritika, it’s not just about fame or recognition. “It’s not about the spotlight; it’s about being able to sleep peacefully at night, knowing I haven’t betrayed my values. That’s what keeps me grounded, despite how glamorous or challenging the industry may be,” she explained.
Known for her roles in web series like Bambai Meri Jaan and projects such as Gyaarah Gyaarah, Kritika values substance over superficial success. “I don’t want to chase trends or give in to industry pressures. I want my work to reflect my beliefs, taste, and growth. The roles I choose are an extension of who I am. It’s about telling stories that resonate with people and leave a lasting impact,” she said.
On the professional front, Kritika will soon be seen in Matka King, a series exploring the world of Matka gambling in Mumbai. The series also stars Vijay Varma in the titular role of the Matka King.
Earlier this year, Kritika shared her commitment to making bold choices, specifically steering clear of projects that focus on the male gaze. “I’ve consciously avoided projects that prioritize the male gaze. I focus on narratives that celebrate real stories and authentic characters,” she explained.
“My goal is to portray roles that reflect my beliefs and contribute positively to cinema. It’s never been about the quantity of work, but the impact they create,” Kritika added. “I believe in making bold choices and staying true to myself as an artist, and I’m grateful to have found stories that allow me to express myself authentically.”
