Mumbai: Actress Kiara Advani has reportedly opted out of Don 3 to prioritise her journey into motherhood. The actress was announced as the lead female character in Farhan Akhtar’s much-anticipated film last year. However, following the announcement of her pregnancy earlier this year, Kiara has amicably decided to step away from the project.
According to industry sources, the actress wishes to enjoy this special phase of her life and take a break from work. She is currently wrapping up the shooting of Toxic and War 2, after which she will take time off to focus on her family. The makers of Don 3 have respected her decision and are now searching for a replacement.
Farhan Akhtar had earlier confirmed that the shooting of Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, would begin this year. The film also features Vikrant Massey as the antagonist. However, the makers are yet to make an official announcement regarding Kiara’s exit.
In February, Kiara and her husband Sidharth Malhotra announced their pregnancy on social media with an adorable picture of tiny socks, captioned, “The greatest gift of our lives. Coming soon.”
On the work front, Kiara is expected to return to films after her maternity break. She is reportedly set to star in Dinesh Vijan’s Shakti Shalini, part of Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe. Additionally, she has been linked to Dhoom 4, which is expected to go on floors in 2026.
