Amritsar: Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committe (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami has firmly stated that he will not be withdrawing his resignation, putting an end to any ongoing speculation regarding his position. His decision followed a significant meeting with shri Akal takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Sing, where both leaders discussed several important issues related to the SGPC and the sikh community.

Dhami;s resignation was triggered by a controversial social media post by Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh, which expressed support for Giani Harpreet Sing, causing unrest within the SGPC leadership. Dhami said that the work of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee will now be carried forward by the Karj Committee (Working Committee) and related committees. He also said that he will not interfere in the affairs of SGPC and Akali Dal in any way.

Let us tell you that, despite continuous efforts being made to persuade Advocate Dhami, he is not ready to withdraw his resignation. Apart from SGPC Working Committee member, Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia, Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh of Sri Akal Takht Sahib also reached to persuade Dhami. But he did not agree and is adamant on not taking back his resignation.
