New Delhi [India]: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the government will expand the network of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) Kendras across the city, in line with the applicable regulations. She made this statement during an interaction with the public at her residence. Gupta highlighted that the previous government had not implemented the PMBJP scheme, possibly due to the “Pradhan Mantri” label, and emphasized that her government would open Janaushadhi Kendras wherever rules permit. She also mentioned that the Delhi government would adhere to a High Court ruling, which mandates the establishment of a Janaushadhi Kendra within 500 meters of every hospital.
On Thursday, CM Gupta held a session with traders, business leaders, and business organizations to gather suggestions for the upcoming Delhi Budget 2025. Business representatives from across the capital shared their concerns. Gupta acknowledged the issues raised, particularly the struggles caused by previous government policies and bureaucracy. She criticized the past administration’s lack of development, pointing out the poor condition of industrial areas and market complexes such as Lajpat Nagar, which still lack basic facilities like public toilets.
Gupta stressed that her government aims to address these infrastructure challenges and create a budget that reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a “Viksit Delhi” (Developed Delhi). Praveen Khandelwal, National Secretary General of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), praised the government’s initiative and expressed confidence that under the leadership of both the Prime Minister and CM Gupta, Delhi is heading in the right direction for growth.
The Delhi Budget for 2025-26 is expected to be presented between March 24 and 26.
