Jammu: Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Daljit Singh Chawdhary, reviewed the security situation along the Jammu frontier during his two-day visit to the region, felicitates women personnel.
According to an official release, the BSF chief assessed operational preparedness along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch district and the International Border (IB) in Kathua, where senior field commanders briefed him.
During his visit to the LoC in Poonch, Chawdhary received a detailed briefing on operational aspects from field officers.
Later, at the IB in Kathua, he interacted with sector commanders and battalion commandants, reviewing critical security parameters and preparedness in the region.
Marking International Women’s Day, the DG BSF met Mahila Praharis deployed at the border and commended their commitment to national security.
Addressing the Prahari Sammelan, he praised their professionalism and dedication. He also felicitated women BSF personnel who have made significant contributions in operations, sports, and training.
The BSF continues to maintain a high level of vigilance along the LoC and IB in Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring the safety and security of the border regions.
New Delhi [India], March 8 (ANI): Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday extended his greetings on International Women’s Day and lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives for women empowerment, including the 33 per cent reservation for women and the abolition of triple talaq.
Speaking on the occasion, Sawant highlighted the efforts of the state’s Women and Child Department in organising programs across Goa to promote respect for women.
“I extend my heartfelt greetings to all my sisters and mothers across the country on this occasion of Women’s Day. Various programs have been organised in Goa to demonstrate respect for women, and I congratulate those who participated in them,” he said.
Sawant also emphasised the Goa government’s commitment to advancing women’s dignity and empowerment. “The Goa government will always support initiatives aimed at increasing respect for women,” he stated.
