New Delhi: Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 20-year-old man whose body was discovered in Kailash Colony, Delhi, on March 7, according to Delhi Police.
The investigation revealed that the victim, identified as Hritik, was killed by his brother-in-law and his associates due to his mistreatment of his wife, who is the sister of one of the accused.
Police were alerted on March 7 about an unknown male body found in the bushes of vacant land in Kailash Colony. The victim had injuries to his neck and his face was severely disfigured. A case was filed under sections 103(1)/3(5) BNS at the Jyoti Nagar police station.
A police team was formed to investigate the case. They examined nearby CCTV footage, utilized technical surveillance, and gathered information from local sources. Through these efforts, they identified the victim as Hritik, a 20-year-old resident of Jagatpuri, Delhi.
Further investigation revealed that Hritik had eloped and married the sister of one of the accused. He allegedly mistreated and humiliated her. On the night of March 6-7, 2025, Hritik visited the accused’s house, where he insulted and made derogatory remarks about the family. In retaliation, the accused planned his murder, enlisting the help of their friends. They all drank alcohol with Hritik, and when he became intoxicated, they took him in a cab to a secluded area in Kailash Colony, where they killed him.
The police later recovered the weapon used in the crime, a blood-stained piece of a wash basin, along with the clothes worn by the accused during the murder.
The four accused arrested are Shivam (20) from Ashok Nagar, Sonu (18) from Jyoti Nagar, Suraj (23) from East Nathu Colony Chowk, and Vishal (18) from East Nathu Colony Chowk, Delhi. The investigation is ongoing.
